Michigan Takes on PIP

Michigan’s No Fault Personal Injury Protection coverage was launched 45 years ago to reduce lawsuits and lower insurance premiums.

As auto insurance premiums continued to skyrocket Michigan to the highest auto premium cost in the United States, the public has continued to rally for change.

But what does change look like? How can decades of increasing PIP losses and premiums be reversed?

In the 2019 legislative session, Michigan has approved a plan to do just that.

In this episode of The Insurance Nerdery, we talk through the changes scheduled to launch June 2020.
