Coronavirus Got Me!

Do you think the media is overreacting and blowing this out of proportion?

Do you think we’re not taking this serious enough?

It really doesn’t matter which side you’re on, the coronavirus (COVID-19) is impacting us.

Up until last week I would say I was in the camp of thinking we’re all overreacting.  Especially after reading an article clarifying fatality and infection rates.

But then PLRB was cancelled.  I had to rearrange my travel schedule and plans.  Even more so, think of what the conference organizers have to go through.

Sure this was the first insurance conference that was a victim of coronavirus.  But I don’t think it will be the last.

Who’s Going to DC?

No this is not going to be a political article to get Tony fired up.  I’m talking about the 2020 PLRB Claims Conference.

PLRB has always been a special conference to me.  I started attending way back when I was an adjuster.  Not to mention that the first insurance videos I ever released was about PLRB.

But that’s not why it’s special.  PLRB is special because of the large amount of Claims professionals there.  In all different roles.  Over a hundred educational sessions.  Limitless networking opportunities. And world class speakers.

2020 is the year I return to the conference and I hope to see you there!

Avoiding a Hangover

Wait a second…not that kind of hangover!

Well.  Maybe that kind of hangover too.

I’m talking about avoiding the insurance conference hangover.  I’m talking about coming back from a conference still too hyped up.  Or completely burnt out.

Coming back not knowing where to start.  Or having too many things that you’re trying to start all at once.

I first heard it referred to as a “hangover” from my good friend Ashley Fitzsimmons.  I think this is the perfect description, as sometimes it feels like you can’t get out of your own way.

Well in this episode of The Insurance Nerdery, I give you some tips of what to do before, during and after an event to make sure we get the most out of it.

Tell us what has worked best for you, because as Amber recently told us, there are a lot of events coming up.  I want to make sure we’re all prepared to crush each and every one of them that we attend!
