Independent claims podcast earns Best Trailer recognition four months after launching its first episode
EVANSTON, IL, October 12, 2026 - The Salty Adjuster, an independent podcast about the people working in claims and insurance, has been named a finalist in the 2026 Signal Awards in the Best Trailer category. The recognition comes four months after the show released its first episode.
The nominated trailer features an episode with Precious Norman-Walton. The Signal Awards recognize excellence in podcasting, and previous honorees include productions from entertainment, journalism and digital media. Mind Your Own with Lupita Nyong'o won Gold in the Best Trailer category in 2025.
The show is hosted by Salty, an anonymous career property claims adjuster. Brett McKenzie, founder of CoVerse Communications, serves as executive producer. Heather Blevins, known as The Insurance Rebel, is an associate producer and a Season 1 guest. Sophia Fouse is assistant producer, Dan Jackson is part of the creative and production team, and Quinn McGowan designed the visual identity.
According to the announcement, the podcast has generated approximately 3,000 listens since launch and has earned multiple Top 100 and Top 50 rankings on Apple Podcasts. Its LinkedIn community has more than 1,000 followers, with nearly 500 on Instagram. Episodes cover career challenges, innovation, mental health, mentorship and the realities of working in claims. Season 2 is underway.
"Insurance has plenty of polished talking points. What we need more of is people willing to pull up a chair and tell the truth about the work, the hard lessons and the humans behind the industry," said Blevins.
