Insurtech Ranks as Lowest-Valued Fintech Subsector, Report Says

According to insights from FT Partners' Greg Smith and Blue Dot Investors' Sahej Suri, insurtech is currently valued lower than any other fintech subsector. The report highlights that due to state-by-state regulation and capital requirements, insurtech operates with an average valuation of five times its revenue. This valuation is notably less than a third of that for the crypto sector, which stands at 17 times revenue. Furthermore, insurtech comprises just 6% of the 450 unicorns within the fintech industry.
