The Salty Adjuster Wins Bronze Signal Award for Best Trailer

The Salty Adjuster Wins Bronze Signal Award for Best Trailer

The Salty Adjuster, an independent podcast about the people who work in insurance, has won a Bronze Signal Award for Best Trailer in the 2026 Signal Awards, the competition’s fifth annual edition.

The win follows the show’s selection as a finalist, which InsNerds News reported on Oct. 12.

The official Signal Awards 2026 Winners Gallery lists the entry as a Bronze winner in Best Trailer under Individual Episodes · Craft.

The episode behind the award

The winning trailer features Precious Norman-Walton, an insurance industry leader known for her work in mentorship and professional development. The conversation with host Salty and executive producer Brett Ashley McKenzie addresses losing one or both parents while working in insurance.

“I was invited to talk about how I have shown up professionally, and ended up sharing about the depth of my humanity as a caregiver, daughter, sister, wife, and mom,” Norman-Walton said in the show’s announcement.

A five-month-old independent show

The Salty Adjuster launched in May 2026 and is produced by CoVerse Communications, the insurance-focused communications agency McKenzie founded in 2023. The show operates without a network or studio behind it.

Episodes cover career development, leadership, mental health, workplace culture, technology and personal adversity, with an emphasis on the people in the industry.

“We wanted this show to be about people,” Salty said. “When we started, we just wanted a place where cool people that happened to work in and around the insurance industry could have open and honest conversations, and be completely real with each other.”

McKenzie said the recognition matters most for the show’s guests and listeners. “Your stories matter,” McKenzie said. “You don’t need a celebrity name, a massive studio budget, or a media empire to make something meaningful.”

The production team includes music producer Daniel Jackson, artist and designer Quinn McGowan, and associate producer Heather Blevins.

Reported audience figures

According to the show’s press release, The Salty Adjuster has released more than 40 episodes since launch, drawn nearly 3,500 listens across podcast platforms and reached audiences in 32 countries. The show reports appearances in Apple’s Top 50 Careers rankings in the United States and Israel, and Top 100 appearances in the United States and Canada.

In October, the team recorded eight live interviews at the CPCU Society’s In2Risk conference in Las Vegas and welcomed its first paid sponsor, Barga, a Canadian company serving the insurance industry.
