My focus spans the P&C and A&H landscape, including balance sheets, services, and distribution businesses, with a particular emphasis on startup and middle-market companies where Altamont's resources and my expertise can unlock significant growth and operational improvements, including utilizing a digital-centric approach and employing a strategic application of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Driving Value Creation: I work closely with portfolio companies to optimize operations, enhance profitability, and implement strategic growth initiatives. I drive immediate value through a deep network of relationships, contacts, and hands-on action. New Investment Diligence: I play a key role in sourcing, evaluating, and executing new investments in the financial services sector, focusing on insurance. M&A Expertise: I provide expertise across the M&A lifecycle, from sourcing and due diligence to integration and post-acquisition growth. I have extensive experience in the US, Canada, UK, and EU markets. Venture Capital & Advisory: I oversee venture capital investments in InsurTech, FinTech, and emerging areas like Crypto/NFT insurance. I also serve as a board member, advisor, and consultant to over a dozen startups in these spaces, guiding them on strategy, product development, and market entry, with a strong emphasis on applying AI/ML for innovative solutions. Operational Leader: I currently take interim functional roles at various portfolio companies. In previous roles at PE-backed MGUs in the personal and commercial Lines markets, I led divisions, drove corporate development and strategy, and managed significant P&Ls. During this time, I began exploring the use of data analytics and enhancing exposure and experience information through various applications to enhance underwriting precision. Reinsurance Broking & Underwriting: I have deep sector expertise in production broking and underwriting roles, having gained deep knowledge of nearly every P&C product/line in Treaty & Fac reinsurance. I am passionate about the transformative power of AI and Machine Learning in the insurance industry. I am particularly interested in InsurTech, FinTech, and Blockchain-related startups.
