This is how you survive and thrive business travel. Tony travels a LOT. 151 flights last year and already at 91 this year. Here are the key things he’s learned along the way. Time to commit to one airline: https://insnerds.com/commit-to-an-airline/ 1:50 – Commit to an airline 2:50 – How to choose your main airline 4:00 – Delta, American or United. Choose one. Southwest doesn’t count (for most people) 4:40 – At times you might pay more for any given flight, having a connection or flying bad hours, but it’s worth it, both for you and for your employer. 5:00 – Why you committing to a single airline makes sense for your employer 5:40 – When things go wrong (which happens often) having status makes it much more likely you’ll make it where you need to be in time and won’t miss any meetings 6:45 – Benefits to you for having status 8:25 – How do you make status? 9:00 – Choosing the right seat (closer to the front, Aisle is better than window) 9:45 – The further back, the more families and infrequent travelers in front of you and it takes exponentially longer to get off the plane to make your connection 10:30 – Status lets you board first which guarantees overhead space 10:37 – Never, ever, ever, ever, ever check a bag (unless you’re forced to) 11:55 – Manager Tools episodes on travel: https://www.manager-tools.com/mtsearch/podcast_item/node/139690 , https://www.manager-tools.com/mtsearch/podcast_item/node/139689 and https://www.manager-tools.com/mtsearch/podcast_item/node/139681 12:25 – Your Credit Card Matters 13:20 – Lounge access 13:00 – Delta Reserve Card 14:30 – Equipment 14:35 – A wallet phone case (https://amzn.to/2osevCS) 15:15 – Card carrier by Leatherology.com 15:45 – A nice pen. Mine charges my iPhone about 10 times, can charge my Mac and Switch. I . use Anker PowerCore+ 26800 (https://amzn.to/2AV5nJC) but soon I will probably upgrade to the newer version that has USB C charging for the battery itself instead of Micro USB. 25:30 – A portable electronic bag.
